April Ross
April Ross, a beach volleyball star American, is among a select category of females who have been awarded medals at several Olympics. Alix-Klineman is set to compete alongside April Ross Tokyo to win her third gold medal in the next couple of days. Ross's dream is to earn her first Olympic gold medal. As she turns 39, it could be Ross' last opportunity to claim the gold medal at an Olympics. However, she's convinced that top prizes are within reach. Ross declared on NBC Boston: "If we try our best, and even If we play our best I believe we can be able to win gold." In addition, I'll try some luck. Ross, who was born 1982, and grew up in Costa Mesa California with her mother and sister, first began competing in sports at the Newport Harbor High School. Ross was a competitive athlete in a variety of sports while attending Newport Harbor High School. While a prep student she played basketball, indoor volleyball as well as running track. But she stood out at this level. In her time at the high school level in her university biography she played as a middle-blocker, outside-hitter and setter. As a tribute to her efforts, she received the Gatorade Award for National Player 1999. Additionally, in 2000, she was named Orange County Athlete of the year for volleyball. Ross and Klineman have been continuing to play in 2017. But, Ross was an important player on the beach volleyball circuit before the pairing. In fact, she's been able to win multiple tournaments, including one with an iconic volleyball player. Jennifer Kessy was her partner during six years between 2007 and the year 2013. She also coached Klineman and herself. Kessy's teammate Ross, who won the world title alongside Kessy in 2009 was also an important player on the an international level. They went into winning a silver at the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the team to beat for the gold. As fate would have it Ross turned out to be Walsh Jennings' new partner when May-Treanor retired. They both went on to take home the bronze medal in beach volleyball in the Rio Olympics 2016. They were joined by Walsh Jennings. Ross began her college time with the Trojans at USC after graduation from high school. This was years before Ross went to the beach, and then became a pro. Ross had an impressive run in the college. When she was a freshman in 2000 Her performance was rewarded with the Pac-10 as well as NCAA the Freshman of the Year award. Additionally, she assisted her Trojans to reach the Final Four. Her heart was broken by a personal tragedy during her sophomore year. However, she managed to become an All-American again. Over the course of her two final years with the Trojans she was instrumental in helping them achieve consecutive championships. As an individual Ross established her status as a legend when she won the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. This prize was awarded to the best female college volleyball players across the United States. Ross, a USC international relations student, was a renowned volleyball player. Margie Ross didn't get to see Ross become the highest beach volleyball stage. Ross's mother Margie died in 2001, when Ross was still a USC sophomore. She had breast cancer. She has kept her parent close to the heart. Margie has been an inspiration both in her personal life and at the beaches.
