Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the United States and is a Greek-American author, syndicated writer of columns and a businesswoman. She is the author of fifteen books. She is also the co-founder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is an writer, journalist, TV host, and also the proprietor of The Huffington Post. Her move to Greece to England aged 16 where she received an MA from Cambridge University in Economics. The well-known debating club The Cambridge Union was her first presidency and she did it when she was 21. She was a conservative syndicated writer after the graduation ceremony and, when The Huffington Post launched a couple of years following, she launched an online platform for voice with a critique of current politics. Her popularity enabled her to get a variety of famous people to share their opinions about current affairs, culture and politics. Arianna's celebrity status started in 2003, after she declared herself an independent candidate for the California recall election to succeed Governor Davis. Alongside this, she was the leader of a Detroit initiative to encourage the use of fuel-efficient cars. Forbes placed her at 12 on its list for the Most Popular Media Women. Guardian also included the Huffington Post on their Top 100 list in the year 2010. AOL Inc. named her president of their media group in 2011 after they acquired The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post included other AOL brands, including Engadget AOLmusic Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli is the child of Konstantinos, a management and journalism consultant. Although she had a close friendship with her mother and father but it was their connection which shaped her. Even in her formative age she demonstrated the leadership abilities that she is still known for. When she was 16years old, she emigrated from America to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college, where she was the first woman to hold the position of the president. In 1972, she earned a Masters in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a journalist-critic and a host on TV. Also, with Bernard Levin she appeared on an episode of Face the music.
