Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been an Greek American columnist, author and entrepreneur for more than twenty years. She founded The Huffington Post and the CEO of Thrive Global. Author of more than 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, writer, philanthropist and television host and the owner of The Huffington Post. Her birthplace was in Greece then moved to England at the age of sixteen. When she attended Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA in Economics. The infamous debating society The Cambridge Union was her first president and she took it when she was 21. She became a syndicated conservative writer following the graduation ceremony and, when The Huffington Post launched a year following, she launched an online voice platform which offered critiques of politics. Her fame led to the recruitment of a number of prominent contributors to share their opinions on the news, politics and culture. Arianna's fame began in 2003, when she declared herself an independent candidate for the California recall election to succeed Governor Davis. Aside from that, Arianna led a Detroit initiative to promote fuel-efficient automobiles. Forbes declared her to be as one of the "most important female" within the field of media and ranked her 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of 100 most influential media people in 2009. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post in 2011 and named her president of the media group that also includes other AOL properties such as Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli was the daughter of Konstantinos who was a management and journalism consultant. She was extremely close to her father. But it was her bond with her mother which has shaped her. She was a leader from the beginning. When she was 16 she emigrated to the United Kingdom to pursue her study and then enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society while in college in which she became the third female to hold the position of president. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of Master's in Economics. In the years following the graduation ceremony, she was a journalist and TV host. She also appeared alongside Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started making books with the editorial services of Bernard Levin.
